MIDDLE SCHOOL: Grades 5-8
At St. John's, middle school students continue building core skills in addition to new study skills and habits necessary for serious academic work in high school. At the same time, we recognize the unique needs of rapidly growing middle school students and offer a rich variety of academic and practical learning opportunities. As their spiritual capacity grows too, we teach all subjects from a Christian perspective and encourage students to seek answers while making ethical decisions.
Academics. Our middle school is a four-year sequence for Grades 5-8. Our students study core academic subjects: religion (faith), English/writing, math, science, history, and literature. Our middle school program is structured in a departmentalized structure, which allows instructors to teach in their areas of expertise. Our middle school education is enriched through additional classes in art, music, and physical education.
Technology. Each student in Grades 5-8 uses a school-issued Chromebook each day for learning (at school and home). Some textbooks and/or assignments may be accessed online (or apps), replacing traditional learning.

Teachers. Our middle school teachers are certified, degreed teachers with a passion for helping young people achieve the highest levels of success. Additionally, their personal commitment to the Christian faith allows them to provide counsel, leadership, and encouragement to their students in a season of life when many students are looking for a good role model.
