Summer Vacation

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Genesis 2:2

Wow! What a great model for us to follow. Put in a good hard week’s work and then rest! This same model applies to our school year as children, parents, and teachers have worked very hard this year.

Our children put in extra effort to comply with COVID preventive measures and to accomplish all the expectations and requirements to grow and learn during the year. Our teachers worked diligently too. Beyond the rigors of preparing lesson plans, teaching the plans, grading papers, and communicating with others, our teachers have also been stretched through the extra stress of COVID-related issues. Parents worked hard to ensure that their children were healthy, completed their homework, and were prepared for daily challenges and emotional roller coaster of in-person learning during the COVID year. I think that we all can agree that school is hard work for everyone, and we all need a vacation!

So, let’s take a break. Let’s take some time to simply rest and relax. Let’s take a summer vacation! My prayer is that our entire school community will have a restful, relaxing, and enjoyable summer vacation. My prayer is that we also will come back to school on August 18 with renewed vigor to accomplish the many tasks in front of us for the new school year.

May God continue to keep you in His care throughout the summer!
