Do Not Fear: 2021

Updated: Dec 17, 2020

2020 has been a tough year. 2020 may be remembered for many years to come, but it will likely be remembered for unprecedented reasons. During the hardest moments of this difficult year, Bible searches soared online, and a record number of people turned to Scripture for passages addressing fear, healing, and justice. The popular YouVersion Bible App saw searches increase by 80 percent in 2020, totaling nearly 600 million worldwide.

Isaiah 41:10 ranked as the most searched, read, and bookmarked verse on the app: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Bible searches spiked corresponding to major events, with “fear” becoming the app’s top search term in the first few months of the year, followed by other searches trending throughout the year.

As we prepare to say goodbye to 2020, we wait with full hope and confidence for 2021. GOD REMAINS. He is faithful to His promises to be with us on the good days and the not-so-good days. He is watching over us, and He promises to be with us no matter what the future may bring. We rejoice in His faithfulness, and we say hello to a new year of God’s love and His work in our lives.
